Sheldon becomes obsessed with building his own "supercomputer" (a Texas Instruments-99/4A, for the nerds out there) to run Hammurabi , a primitive economics game. When he realizes he doesn’t have the money, he starts doing other people’s homework for cash – pure, unregulated capitalism from a 9-year-old. Mary’s horrified. George Sr. is oddly proud. The BD5 version looks crisp – you catch all the little details: Sheldon’s pocket protector, the wood-paneled walls, and the glorious '80s clutter. But more importantly, this episode nails the show’s mission statement: genius is lonely, family is messy, and sometimes all you need is a working computer or a cold one on the porch. Meemaw goes on a date with Dr. Sturgis (her eventual boyfriend). It’s awkward, sweet, and sets up one of the best dynamics of the series. Watching her get vulnerable is rare and wonderful.
