"Ow," he mumbled into the grass. As Pichu helped Blazé up, a flicker of pink light caught his eye near the Carousel’s central pillar—a pillar carved to look like a wise old Celebi. The light vanished behind it.
He waddled to the Carousel. A small crowd had gathered. A Psyduck was staring blankly at a spinning Ponyta figure, drooling slightly. Two Pichu cousins were curled up together on a bench, fast asleep—in the middle of breakfast.
"Oh no," Mew said, not turning around. "You’re not supposed to be here. The Forget-Me-Not Melody should have put everyone to sleep by now." poképark
Pichu listened. The melody was indeed sad—a lonely, music-box version of a lullaby no one recognized. He felt a yawn creep up his throat.
Inside was a dusty, forgotten gear room. And hovering in the center, examining a giant, cracked crystal gear, was a . "Ow," he mumbled into the grass
"Did you see that?" Pichu asked.
"We can't fight it," Pichu whispered. "We'd wake it up angry." He waddled to the Carousel
The Dread Dip was a maze of echoing caves and shifting shadows. Mew guided them telepathically, but the fear was real. Gigantic shadow-Gengar lunged at them (illusions, Mew assured). The floor turned to sticky spiderwebs. Blazé’s fire-footprints kept fizzling out.
