It was 11:47 PM on a Tuesday, and Leo regretted everything.
It started as a tiny stutter while he was compiling a kernel module. Then the resolution dropped to 800x600. Then Windows gave him that dreaded notification: “Display driver failed to start. Using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.”
Instead, the screen flickered.
Leo groaned. His secondary monitor—a gorgeous 1440p ultrawide—was now a black void. The main screen showed everything blown up, jagged, and sad. Even the Windows 11 taskbar looked apologetic.
He dove into the BIOS. Disabled Secure Boot temporarily. Booted back into Windows, held Shift while clicking Restart, and went into Startup Settings. Disabled driver signature enforcement (option 7).
