First, the dubbing quality is surprisingly good. The voice artist for John Coffey (originally played by Michael Clarke Duncan) captures his gentle, sorrowful tone with remarkable sincerity. The dialogues in Tamil retain the soul of the original – especially Coffey’s famous line, "I’m tired, boss" , which has been translated with emotional weight rather than literal accuracy. Paul Edgecomb’s (Tom Hanks) voice also feels natural and age-appropriate across the film’s time jumps.

The film’s strength – its blend of supernatural fantasy with brutal prison drama – translates well even in dub. However, a few American Southern slang and 1930s cultural references get slightly lost in translation, but that doesn’t hurt the core emotional beats.
