We’ve all been there. You just finished a fresh install of Windows, or you’re setting up a new PC for a family member. You open the default browser (usually Internet Explorer or the old Edge) to download Chrome or the new Edge—only to realize that the web installer keeps failing.

Why? Because the standard web installer is tiny. It downloads the rest of the files as it installs. If your internet connection is shaky, blocked by a firewall, or you need to install Edge on multiple machines, that little web installer is useless.
